Today is Carter's first full-day of kindergarten! Yesterday he rode the bus with me and we had orientation at school. Today - he rode alone!
I am so terribly proud of Carter. He has only been super excited about school, the bus, making friends, everything. Although he held my hand VERY tightly yesterday, he hasn't said he's been scared.
I can't say the same about me. I woke up at 4:45am this morning and couldn't get back to sleep! I kept worrying that I didn't have all his snacks or lunch made, the forms completed, would we miss the bus... Because he just jumped right on the bus, the tears didn't start until the bus drove off and he was waving at the window! He is so ready for school and I'm excited for this next stage of our life. I am also really looking forward to the special time I will have with Matthew.
Update: Carter just got home and said school was "awesome"! I hope he says this coming home from the first day of 11th grade!

So cute! He's gotten so tall!
I think it would be so hard to watch my kids ride away on the bus - but SO fun for him! Ryan has always wanted to be a bus rider... but we live only 3 blocks from the school.
Jackson starts K on Wed. I have mixed feelings about it. He is a walker, so no bus for him. And it is only 1/2 day, so it really just feels like another year of preschool. I will she how I feel next week, though. I guess I am a bit sentimental because I bought him a backpack months ago and have been hiding it in my closet!
Oh man. What a momentous day for him AND you :) He looks so excited - I love it. Enjoy!
I was so waiting for this post!! Cute little man! How is mommy? love you!
