Earlier this week I was thinking about my friend Julie and how she waited to the last of the month to renew her car inspection sticker and had to have a bunch of work done... and how much of a pain that would be.
Well I was off to a needed oil change on Tuesday. After an hour of Matthew and Abby playing in all the display cars, the guy came out and told me the car was all set - but did I know the inspection sticker had expired. I said no I didn't - did it just expire in February? No ma'am - LAST SUMMER. Oh yes - my inspection sticker expired in JUNE 2008!
Of course my excuse is that this is Bill's department and I truly never, ever look at that sticker. But here is the funny thing - my car has had a lot of work done in the past 4-5 months (new tires, new brakes, new fuel tank, new interior buttons, blah, blah) and this is the first time someone noticed!
Needless tosay, we got a new sticker right away! The inspector was pretty surprised to see how very expired it was!

Boy are you lucky. If you still lived in the DC area, you would have gotten a ticket right away - you know how those eagle eyed policemen are in this part of the country.
That is hilarious!! Unbelievable that none of the previous repair men hadn't noticed the expiration.
You are SOOOOOO DANG LUCKY!!!! Did you see my blog entry about my horrible day...which had mostly to do with our expired sticker...?? There are some eagle eyed policemen in New Hampshire, that's for sure!! I can't believe you lasted that long without anyone noticing! Lucky you.
