NC with our friends, the Vicks

Well I know I am well overdue to finish posting pictures from our NC trip and the remainder of the summer. We've had so much fun - I guess I've just been taking each day as I can and hoping to catch up on EVERYTHING (sorry for everyone who hasn't gotten a reply phone call or e-mail or anything) when school starts. Here is my attempt to finish some summer highlights...
Our dear friends, the Vicks, came down the second week we were in NC. Our children had grown up with the Benzleys (see last post) so it was a huge friend/family reunion. Count it - 11 kids in Mom and Dad's house! We all survived... Here are some highlights - somehow couldn't get the pictures in the exact order I wanted and if I don't post them as is, I'll just never finish the blog!
Here is Thomas catching a fish!
This is Uncle Jerry showing off a wonderful remote controlled airplane. The kids are running in Mama's garden. My boys want one of these now!

Abby and Sophie on Mama's tractor.

Sophie caught a fish!!!! At first she wanted me to help her do everything, by the end, she was baiting the rod herself! She was proud to have caught one.

Matthew baiting his own hook.

Benjamin caught the first fish! Dad is taking it off the hook. All the fish had to be thrown back.

All the fishing kids lined up on Reginald's dock - showing a beautiful NC summer day.

We visited Fort Macon as a group. That's 3 moms and 11 kids. Only 2 girls in the group - we got lots of stares! The kids had SOOO much fun!

The kids all played so well together - it was so fun to have the Benzleys back in the mix. The kids played huge Connect 4 tournaments. They had different brackets - the winner and loser brackets. It was so much fun to see them so entertained and relaxed.
Mom and Dad wanted a picture of all the kids on the mezzanine - lots of kids. Luckily they are all such good kids.

We went to the beach a couple times all together. Here the surfers are trying to line up.

Despite all the work of being all together, it was extremely relaxing and a super fun week. It was great to show our good friends our 'other home' in NC and share all our experiences there. Hope we can do it again next year! We miss those Benzleys terribly!!!
